The newest "Pokemon GO" season, dubbed the "Season of Light," began on Sept. 1. As depicted in the season's debut trailer, this "Pokemon GO" season will feature a space theme highlighting stars, nebulas, and a new cool Pokemon called Cosmog. Cosmog is one of the latest Gen 7 Pokemon to join the game.

In the new season of "Pokemon GO," players must complete a new Special Research mission with some interesting rewards. Cosmog will be introduced to the augmented reality game via a brand-new Special Research mission titled "A Cosmic Companion." But it seems like our little cosmic friend has found a way to evolve.

Cosmoen Joins the Battle

According to a CNET report, the next chapter of this season's Special Research story has also been released along with Cosmog's evolved form. Cosmoem, a new Pokemon to add to your collection, is introduced during the event, running until Oct. 11. The Season of Light's Special Research story's subsequent installment is now available.

Cosmoen is the "Protostar Pokemon," according to Bulbapedia. A protostar is a young star in the beginning phases of emergence before it attains the main sequence stage. This stage of stellar evolution can last 100,000 years or more, based on the size of the star. This definition is taken from All the Science.

Based on several Bulbapedia entries, Cosmoem is a Pokémon that resembles "a translucent, dark-blue orb with a starscape pattern set in a golden shell-like structure."

Where and When to Find Cosmoen

Based on the official news release, the Evolving Stars event will begin on Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. local time and will end on Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. During that time, players can also expect Field Research on Evolution and a Collection Challenge that awards Evolution items.

Cosmoen can be obtained by feeding Cosmog 25 candies. The same process that players use to evolve most Pokemon in the game.
