Spotify HiFi streaming has yet to launch after facing delays. In fact, rumors have been predicting lossless support since 2017.

But even as Apple and Amazon already provide lossless music streaming, the Swedish streaming service has yet to roll out its HiFi streaming support.

However, this time, it looks like the long-delayed Spotify HiFi is likely seeing the light of day in a new Platinum tier.

Spotify HiFi Streaming on a New 'Platinum' Plan?

According to a story by Tech Crunch, the giant Swedish streaming service Spotify first teased that it is about to introduce a new HiFi streaming option for its subscribers.

The rumors about the lossless streaming support on Spotify started sprouting in 2017. But in early 2021, the audio streaming platform confirmed that it is launching an option for users to stream "CD-quality, lossless audio format."

When Spotify announced its HiFi streaming option, the tech firm said it should be out sometime last year. But 2021 has come to an end with no lossless support in sight.

It is worth noting that Apple introduced lossless audio streaming for its music service in June last year.

But a recent Spotify survey highly suggests that the Swedish streaming service is working to introduce its lossless streaming support anytime soon.

As per the latest report by The Verge, Spotify appears to be asking leaving subscribers if they would go back if ever the giant streaming service debuts a new tier. And it turns out that the new plan comes with the long-awaited HiFi streaming support.

Spotify Survey Hints HiFi Streaming is on its Way

A former Spotify subscriber took to Reddit to share a recent survey they had to answer as they left the platform.

The survey is pretty straightforward. It asks unsubscribing users if they would consider going back if a new plan arises. And all the other choices are the good ol' free and Premium options on the service. However, there is a new tier, so-called the "Platinum" plan.

The Spotify questionnaire reveals that the new "Platinum" option provides everything that an "Individual" plan offers. But it comes with several additions. It potentially provides audio features like a Headphone Tuner, Studio Sound, and Audio Insights.

Besides these audiophile-baiting functions, it comes with Library Pro and Playlist Pro options. And, you guessed it, it flaunts the much-awaited HiFi streaming support.

How Much is Spotify HiFi Priced

The survey suggests that the new "Platinum" plan costs $19.99 monthly. And at that price, it only allows a single user.

It is worth noting that the new potential tier is $10 more expensive than the $9.99 Individual plan.
