Microsoft's Xbox Home UI 2023 is compared to a giant Xbox Game Pass advertisement.

If a feature is being compared to an ad, then it's actually not a good thing, especially since digital consumers don't really like to see advertisements on their screens.

Although the redesigned user interface of Xbox Home is not yet officially released, some Microsoft users were able to access its early version.

Those who already saw the actual design change said that the main interface replaces the larger tile for the most recent app or game.

They added that the six tiles are now all the same size and are located across the top row.

On the other hand, some testers said that they are glad that the Settings and Microsoft Store applications were removed from the recent list.

Aside from these changes, the main section also has only two tiles reserved for ads, which is a great change compared to the recent version, which has three tiles for advertisements.

But, as they scrolled down the redesigned Xbox Home UI, they noticed some issues that made the user interface similar to a giant Xbox Game Pass promotion.

Xbox Home UI 2023's Issues

The new Xbox Home UI has a section for recently added games to Xbox Game Pass. Testers said this area is a good addition for Game Pass users.

However, they said it also looks like an extension of Game Pass or the Microsoft Store, which can encourage users to install or buy new games.

This is not the only problem of the Xbox Home UI 2023's early version. Among its biggest issue is the lack of customization features.

But, testers said that since it's the early version, there's still time for Microsoft to fix them, especially since the tech firm wants Xbox Home experiences to be more enjoyable.

"Team Xbox is always looking for ways to improve your gaming experience, getting gamers what they want, games. We're focused on making it faster and easier to play the games you love and find your next favorite game," said Microsoft via its official Xbox Home Experience blog post

In other news, Microsoft's mobile gaming store for Xbox is expected to compete against the likes of Google and Apple.

Meanwhile, the Xbox Game Pass recently added four titles, such as "Amnesia: Collections."
