Needless to say, Jason David Frank, who recently passed away on Nov. 20, left a legacy after spending 25 years of his acting career on the Power Rangers franchise.

Jason's Debut Marks the First Sixth Ranger
According to CBR, every season of the action-packed series holds a surprise sixth ranger.
The very first additional ranger. However, happens to be actor Jason David Frank's Green Ranger in the first season of the whole Power Rangers series.
Tommy Oliver debuted in the five-part episode arc titled "Green with Evil." After defeating the five rangers and freeing himself from villain Rita Repulsa's control, Tommy fights alongside the other Rangers as the sixth member.
The Green Ranger's Popularity Was Unexpected
Surprisingly, the mega-hit Power Rangers franchise was only meant to release one season of the whole series.
Thus, ScreenRant reveals that the Green Ranger only had a limited amount of footage since his story was meant to be brief in the first season, eventually losing his powers and returning to a routine life of street karate.
However, the unexpected success of the overall show and the Green ranger's popularity created a huge shift in Tommy Oliver as a breakout character, causing Jason Frank David to reprise his role on the show.
Tommy Oliver Holds a Doctorate Degree
It seems that the mighty green ranger may have been smarter than he had let on. Although Tommy had already retired as a ranger, he reprised his role in an appearance on the 12th season of the series, now with a Doctorate in Paleontology.
On Power Rangers Dino Thunder, he served as a mentor to the new team of Power Rangers and, later on, joined in on the action as the Black Dino Thunder Ranger.
The Green Ranger Almost Became the Final Opponent
Interestingly, amidst the whopping 28 seasons of the whole franchise, there are still some stories that never made it to the cut.
Intended as the story to follow the 10th season was the unreleased story of Power Rangers Hexagon, according to Den of Geek. In the story concept, the original green ranger, Tommy Oliver, was meant to return as the most powerful Ranger of all time and ultimately become the final opponent for the Ranger team.
The Green Ranger Almost Had Its Own Spinoff Movie/Series
In a past interview during Comic Con 2016, Jason David Frank expressed his interest in a Power Rangers spinoff movie or series that would focus solely on the Green Ranger, according to Comicbook.
"He came to the house and we talked about the Green Ranger series with Saban, which is not dead yet." Frank stated regarding his talk with Power Rangers creator Haim Saban.
However, following the announcement, no details have been heard regarding the Green Ranger project since then.
