Apple recently finished its prestigious 2022 App Store Awards program which recognizes and celebrates those who made an impact on the world, centering on games, entertainment, connectivity, and engaging the imagination. The top application on this recognition from the Cupertino company is the French social media app, BeReal, the App Store's 2022 App of the Year.
There are a total of 16 apps that also won in other categories in this recognition from the Cupertino giant, centering on games and arcade titles, among other productivity apps in the mix.

BeReal Tops the App Store Awards
The French social media app tops the 2022 App Store awards for its innovative take on the social media experience, dubbed as the "anti-Instagram" app for its novel features. The app rose to fame this year, where people can only post one story per day, before another 24-hour cycle where the image expires and they can post again.

The Apple App Store is the exclusive source of applications, games, and other experiences for Cupertino's devices, especially if they follow the legitimate operating system from the company and did not resort to jailbreaks to access third-party apps. However, there was a previous EU ruling for Apple that centers on allowing the company to sideload apps on its devices.
For now, Apple's App Store is still the exclusive and legitimate source, with applications seeing verification and an intricate process before it becomes available to avoid scams or malware.
However, the company still has a massive restriction on the digital currency industry, with cryptocurrency and NFTs, alongside their services, seeing a tight grip from Apple. For now, users and developers would have to abide by these rules, especially as the App Store is the only legitimate platform that Apple allows to download apps from and install on devices.
The App Store is a place where users can discover a lot on their smartphones too, about apps and games which deliver the world with multiple experiences and features to complement their needs.
