Capcom announced its plan to launch Monster Hunter Rise on multiple PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

Monster Hunter Rise, launched on the Nintendo Switch and PC platform on March 26, 2021, will officially open its doors to more consoles by next year, according to Monster Hunter's official Twitter.

The news comes before the release of its major expansion, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, which is set to launch in spring 2023, according to Video Games Chronicle.

Monster Hunter Rise Confirms Launch to PlayStation and Xbox Consoles Rumors

Prior to Capcom's official confirmation of the news, rumors regarding Monster Hunter Rise's release to the Playstation and Xbox series had already begun circulating online, as per GameRant's report.

Playstation officially confirmed the rumors about Monster Hunter Rise that soon be launched on platforms PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One with a release date of January 20, 2023.

According to the online leak, the release of Monster Hunter Rise on PlayStation and Xbox will feature support for 4K resolution and 3D audio. Digital Trends also reports that Monster Hunter Rise will support cross-play and cross-progression between the Xbox consoles and Xbox app for Windows PC. Meanwhile, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions will have cross-play but can only do so within the PlayStation ecosystem.

Additionally, the game will be available via Xbox Game Pass for Console, Cloud, and PC.

Monster Hunter Rise Gameplay Overview

Fans of the Monster Hunter franchise may be familiar with the hunting experience that Monster Hunter Rise's gameplay centers on. However, the game offers many new features. Monster Hunter Rise players will get familiar with Kamura Village, which will serve as players' central hub and base of operations.

Monster Hunter Rise is the latest installment in the action RPG series and transports players to Kamura Village, a colorful and tranquil setting that attracts visitors with its unique culture and innovative hunting technologies. Hunters must equip their armor and select from one of the 14 different weapon types to tackle daunting foes. As players defeat monsters and progress through the game, items carved from fallen foes can be used to craft unique weapons and armor that increases their chances of survival. Hunters can tackle these challenges solo, or with up to three other hunters in cooperative online play.

Following the announcement, Capcom launched its pre-registration for Monster Hunter Rise for $39.99 XBox and Playstation consoles, which will earn players a bonus adorable Layered Armor for your Palamute and Palico. Additionally, you can also get a Novice Talisman to help you out in the early stages of the game as a bonus reward.
