Google's Year in Search for 2022 is another spotlight on the internet that every searcher should look at before the year ends. 

Annually, Google compiles all the most trending topics around the world, from the best movies to the most popular sports events during the 12-month season.

Google's Year in Search in a Nutshell

According to Engadget, the most searched topic for this edition is "Wordle," a word game that The New York Times acquired back in February.

Some people were also curious about the controversial match between India and England in the field of cricket. The popular event is considered one of the greatest matches during the Cricket World Cup.

During mid-year, the sensational Ukraine topic emerged on several websites. When it encountered Russia in a blitzkrieg, the world leaders got alarmed and posed economic sanctions on the country.

At the time, people searched Google to find out the latest news about the war. Some of the most common searches on Google Search include the number of casualties, the statements of world leaders, donations, and more.

2022 won't be complete with an iconic personality of the year. With the passing of Queen Elizabeth in the UK, many people lamented and joined the royal family in mourning the longest-living monarch at that time.

It's surprising to see that COVID-19 is no longer the most talked about topic this year. Monkeypox is even more popular than it all of a sudden.
