The Cupertino-based tech giant does not usually dish out release notes for AirTag and AirPods firmware updates. But this time, the renowned tech giant laid out what the two previous AirTag updates offer its users.

Apple AirTag Firmware Update Details Are Out

As per the latest news story by Apple Insider, the Cupertino firm recently rolled out two AirTag firmware updates. The first release was in November, while the most recent version was this month.

To be more exact, Apple released the version 2.0.24 AirTag update last November 10. And roughly a month after, another firmware version arrived as the firm rolled out version 2.0.36 last December 12.

When these two updates saw the light of day, it is unclear what changed. Apple kept mum about what it offers its users. The giant firm just went on to release the update without talking about it until now.

Apple Insider says in its report that a new AirTag support article on the website of the renowned giant firm gives us an idea of what the recent updates offer.

It only makes sense that firms like Apple explain what their new updates are bringing to their users. That said, the tech giant did so -- albeit taking a little while.

The update brought Precision Finding to locate unknown AirTag tracking devices potentially following your location.

iPhone users can now easily look for these suspicious AirTag using the new feature.

The support page says that version 2.0.24 "enables Precision Finding to help locate an unknown AirTag detected moving with you." Do note that this needs iPhone users to have at least iOS 16.2 installed on their devices.
