Apple AR/VR Mixed-Reality Headset Launch

As per the latest report by Mac Rumors, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo talked about the potential launch date of the Apple reality headset in his recent tweet. He further disclosed delays in the mass shipments of the rumored AR/VR offering.

However, it still looks to be on track to get the shimmer of the spotlight this year.

Mac Rumors notes in its story that Kuo previously predicted that Apple plans to launch its mixed-reality headset this January. But this time, the analyst says that the device is facing an ongoing delay.

With that, the renowned tech firm is likely to introduce it at a much later event, probably a media event this spring or the much-awaited WWDC 2023 this June.

Given that, the analyst believes that "it is increasingly unlikely that Apple will hold a media event for the new device in January."

Why is it Delayed?

Kuo revealed in his tweet that the upcoming mixed reality device is delayed because of issues Apple is currently grappling with.

He notes that it "is behind schedule due to issues with mechanical component drop testing and the availability of software development tools."

Due to the ongoing delay, Kuo now believes that the mass shipment of the upcoming device might be pushed back from the second quarter of 2023 to the late second quarter or the third quarter of the year.
