BP Pulse has placed a massive order for DC fast chargers from Tritium, as reported by The Verge. However, the exact number of orders is not specified, but Tritium said that it is their largest order from a single customer so far.

More EV Chargers Soon
This only means that there will be more EV chargers available. Currently, BP Pulse has 60 charging locations and they are working to expand in Australia, Europe, and the US.
Both companies have entered a multilayer contract in April 2022 to grow the network of fleet and public-accessible fast charging stations of BP Pulse.
Also recently, Tritium partnered with DC-America in October 2022 to build a nationwide fast charging network in the US. They also sell chargers to customers in the UK.
Tritium builds DC chargers capable of 50 and 150 kWh speeds in their Lebanon, Tennessee plant, which opened in August 2022. They also have a plant in Brisbane, Australia where they plan to build chargers for BP Pulse deployments.
On the other hand, their US plant is said to be capable of 30,000 units per year at full maturity, while the one in Australia is capable of 5,000.

Expanding Their EV Charging Business
BP continues to expand their business, and BP Pulse has secured a partnership with Hertz to build out their EV charging fleet network.
Wide EV Adoption
The adoption of electric vehicles continues to increase worldwide. While you might find it hard to imagine now, with gasoline-powered vehicles almost the norm, electric vehicles will eventually make up the majority of the vehicles on the road.
Tritium's move to extend their partnership with BP is a good example of how companies should work together to promote EV adoption. It is also encouraging for companies to make more investments to build more fast charging stations in order to make the process of charging hassle-free.
Construction of more charging stations will not only make EV adoption faster, but more convenient and less time consuming. It is a great way to promote EV adoption and get more people to try them out. The high up-front cost of EVs is one of the major impediments to EV adoption. Thus, it is critical that automakers and infrastructure companies work together to make it easier for people to adopt EVs.
In the meantime, EV charging infrastructure will continue to improve in the next few years. EV charging companies like Tritium which build chargers and sell them to third parties continue to make improvements on the charging stations.
As more automakers are broadening their EV portfolio, they are also going to need more infrastructure to support their vehicles. Thus, charging companies will also be in a better position to develop more infrastructure.
