The recent report of the Huawei P60 series fueled the rumors that the first released device embracing the new HarmonyOS 3.1 will be the Huawei P60. Huawei officially stated that HarmonyOS, the new version of Huawei's mobile operating system, will be deeply customized with multiple devices.

HarmonyOS 3.1 Details were Already Released Showing Its System Stability Improvements

According to the story by Giz China, the project's direction is to fully support mobile phones, tablets, PCs, wearables, smart screens, automotive, and other smart appliances. The potential of the new HarmonyOS has already attracted much consumer attention.

The current HarmonyOS 3.1, as explained further in an article by Huawei Central, is in internal testing and should have some bug fixes and improvements in system stability. Still, it was announced that the major updates would come in HarmonyOS 4.0 instead.

HarmonyOS is Starting to Get a Portion of the Market but Lags Behind Android and iOS

The already existing HarmonyOS has been gaining market share, with a current global market share of 2%. To put this in perspective, the current market share for Android is 81%, and iOS is 18%, as also reported in an article by My Drivers.

According to the plan, Huawei will develop its own products with HarmonyOS and open the HarmonyOS platform to other third-party manufacturers to jointly construct the HarmonyOS ecosystem.

HarmonyOS Includes Compatibility for Multiple Devices

Huawei aims to achieve a comprehensive ecosystem. It builds a bridge between the device and the service and is committed to providing users with a consistent technological experience across multiple devices and scenarios.

With its multiple device compatibility and focus on artificial intelligence, it's clear why people are so interested in HarmonyOS. The advantages of HarmonyOS cover several aspects.

The Open-Source Distributed HarmonyOS and Its Disadvantages

Firstly, HarmonyOS is an open-source distributed OS and supports different device forms, platforms, and compatibility. Secondly, it supports cross-platform services and is focused on AI services.

In other words, users can interact with all connected products without adjusting how they use them. HarmonyOS is also committed to providing an optimal user experience, especially for low-power devices.

Huawei P60 Series Could Run on the HarmonyOS

With the upcoming Huawei P60 series and other potential devices running HarmonyOS, the future of the system and Huawei looks ever so promising. Not only will it change the mobile industry, but it could also shape the whole smart device world.

It will be interesting to see how consumers react to the new OS, and we can only hope that HarmonyOS will gain the same success as Android and iOS. There is still a lot of work for HarmonyOS to become a major player in the mobile phone industry.

The bonus is that it'll be easier for developers to develop the HarmonyOS platform because of its shared architecture. As Huawei continues to refine the system and enhance compatibility, it could become a bigger success in the future.
