Less than a month after the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung is not wasting time in the recent discovery of their patent applications for the latest XR devices coming soon from the company. There are two applications currently filed by the United States Patent and Trademark Office that center on the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Glasses. 

In Samsung's Unpacked announcement, there was no information as to what their new devices will center on, and it only centered on one device already available before, the Gear VR.

There are two patent filings from Samsung spotted on the USPTO, and it centers on the significant plans the company announced from its latest Unpacked this early February. 

First off is the Galaxy Glasses which will center on an augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) experience for the public, and will center on a smartphone accessory to bring the experience to the devices. 

On the other hand, there is the so-called Galaxy Ring, and the company claims that it is "intended to cover the categories of wearable smart devices in the nature of a smart ring for tracking, measuring, monitoring, and uploading health, fitness and sleep related information; smart rings; smartphones."

Samsung's XR Experience Plans are Bearing Fruit Now

The latest trademark applications center on expanding Samsung's XR experience and wearables, and the original plan introduced during the Unpacked event is now bearing fruit and taking shape in the industry.

In one aspect, Samsung's XR experience would center on the mixed-reality glasses that will bring a combination of both the real world and digital platforms in one device. 

Next is its fitness wearable that will help users with tracking their health and activities, including sleep, to complete the personalized experience. 

Samsung's Wearables and AR/VR Experience

The famed South Korean company has different wearables available from the company that is already available on their list of devices up for sale in the market. There is the Galaxy Watch series that serves as an accessory to its smartphone devices to deliver health, fitness, and lifestyle features to its users, delivering the Samsung experience. 

Another wearable from the company also centers on a smartphone accompaniment that brings a wireless audio experience for its user, the Galaxy Buds series.

Who could also forget Samsung's take on the virtual reality technology that is no longer available in the US market the South Korean company, the Gear VR series, powered by Oculus.

With the many wearables from Samsung already available, it is only high time for them to expand to what the market and trends are, which is the new digital reality experience for all, via its "XR" plans. It partnered up with Google and Qualcomm for its deliverables, and this patent shows significant promise on its upcoming plans for new AR/VR glasses, as well as a health tech wearable.
