The world was washed by the waves brought by the Galaxy S23 series, particularly with the Ultra variant, which promises the industry's best smartphone camera, also including astrophotography. However, there were debates that the Moon image the smartphone allegedly took was fake, but reports now claim that it is not entirely fraudulent.

The question now centers on how come it is not entirely fake, and this is because of the smart features like AI enhancement and improved resolution to every shot it takes, widely available on smartphones.

Samsung boasted the "most advanced camera" on a smartphone with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The top-tier device in the entire series features the three-rear camera setup like usual.

It features the 200MP Wide Camera, 12MP Ultra-Wide Camera, and 10MP Telephoto Lens with up to 100x zoom. Its Telephoto lens is one of the most impressive, as the company claims that its Night photography and astrophotography are the best in the market. It also claims that its Moon images came directly from the smartphone.

However, some owners questioned this claim, especially when comparing Samsung's shot to theirs. It was different.

According to 9to5 Mac, upon testing the smartphone's capabilities, particularly with the Periscope lens (what Samsung's cameras have), additive technology like AI and Smart Resolution helped add details to the Moon, compared to RAW shots.

Samsung's Astrophotography Gets Help with Additive Tech

Despite not being capable of fully capturing the beauty of the Moon, including its intricate features and details, smartphones like the Galaxy S23 Ultra can perceive what it looks like and bring the image closer to the original.

This is the current feature of Samsung's Astrophotography capabilities present on the Galaxy S23's cameras, with its users heavily benefitting from this hidden tech to help enhance their images more.

When Samsung first held the Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this February, the world was met with a new design of the Galaxy S23 series, now with flatter screens to help people use the S Pen better. However, this is not the only upgrade from the company as it centers on the camera features, which are among its best technology available.

Although tech companies mostly center on upgrading the cameras and other usual features, it is still a significant factor in buying a new smartphone.

One of Samsung's mentioned features here is the better astrophotography features, focusing on taking images of the Moon and other heavenly bodies.

Still, there were initial issues with the S23 series' cameras, with users claiming a "shutter lag" whenever taking images, but it has an easy fix for all.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features one of the best cameras in the smartphone market at present, and its Moon images are legit, with a few tricks up its sleeves to improve its final products when it saves to the gallery without user edits.
