Discord's Nitro subscribers may now try out new themes to tweak the interface's look.

Discord is letting its Nitro subscribers experiment with various new themes for the software's desktop version in its latest beta test. Thanks to this new addition, users may change the overall aesthetic of the Discord interface by using one of many available themes.

"We're bringing Discord Nitro subscribers a colorful new perk with Themes, giving them more ways to bring their own vibe to the Discord app on desktop. Alongside the rest of the perks provided by your Discord Nitro subscription, you'll be able to bring some fresh hues to your Discord views," the company wrote via a blog post.

New Color, New Style

Popular among gamers, Nitro is a $9.99 monthly subscription instant messaging service that now offers 16 different theme colors. However, users on the much more affordable $2.99/month Nitro Basic membership do not have access to the themes.

Chroma Glow, Citrus Sherbert, Midnight Blurple, and Retro Raincloud are just some of the new hues, and anybody with a Discord account may check them out ahead of time.

If you are using a desktop computer, you can access the new colors by going to Settings and choosing Appearance. You will see a new color section emerge under the preexisting Light and Dark themes. And by choosing the Customize option, users may easily alter the color of certain parts of a theme.

As per a PCMag report, Nitro's added perks include profile editing tools, support for 4K video at 60 frames per second, and larger file uploads and messages for up to 4,000 characters.

As an alternative to Nitro (which costs $10 monthly), BetterDiscord is a workable option for people who would prefer to spend less money. The program, which is available for free download and aims to improve upon Discord's features, includes a theming engine that facilitates the creation of user-specific skins.

According to The Verge, though, the available themes are not as user-friendly as those on Nitro.

Ultimately, Discord's new Themes feature is a wonderful asset to the app's already amazing capabilities. It enables extra levels of personalization for users and differentiates Discord from other messaging services.
