The logo of the European Space Agency (ESA) in Darmstadt, western Germany, is pictured at the day of the controlled descent of the ESA space probe Rosetta onto the surface of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, on September 30, 2016.

The European Space Agency posted an announcement on Saturday, Apr. 1, saying that it is testing the new Lucky Clover Project quadrupled (LCP).

If this is true, then it would certainly bring joy to many people since four-leaf clovers are believed to bring good luck to those who can find them.

Because of its unique capability, ESA described its LCP as a "revolutionary new technology" that could bring luck to Earthlings.

According to ESA's official blog post, the new LCP includes a state-of-the-art satellite innovation, which is powered by an artificial intelligence model.

ESA added that LCP also utilizes quantum computing and machine learning. All these features allow LCP to generate a new algorithm that can effectively detect four-leaf clovers.

"The team currently has an 83% successful detection rate, confirmed by in situ measurements," said ESA.

The space organization stated that their LCP team tested the new space technology on the island of Amadan, which is considered to have the largest field of four-leaf clovers.

LCP Principal Investigator Dr. Fortunato Quadrifoglio claimed that the new Lucky Clover Project can predict where four-leaf clovers will likely grow.

TAKE NOTE: Although the new LCP tech of ESA is quite exciting, the space organization clarified that it is an April Fool's Day prank. If you will search for Dr. Fortunato Quadrifoglio on Google, results will direct you to links containing four-leaf clover content. Happy April Fool's indeed.

Fun Facts About Four-Leaf Clovers

The prank of ESA is a good one since many people are really into finding four-leaf clovers.

If you are among them, then are some fun facts about this lucky leaf, provided by Better Homes and Gardens, then you need to know about:

  • No clover plant naturally grows four-leaf clovers.
  • Scientists claim Ireland is the place where four-leaf clovers are mostly founded.
  • Giving a four-leaf clover to other individuals will double the luck it provides.
  • There are around 10,000 three-leaf clovers for every four-leaf clover.
