An alleged image of the upcoming new Tesla Model 3 is circulating online across several social media sites. When the EV community saw the early glimpses of the refreshed design, some people wondered if "Highland" had promising features for such a unit.

Tesla Model 3 Highland Project Leak

Electrek reports that the rumors about Tesla's attempt to release the Model 3 Highland refresh first came out in 2022. At that time, speculations said that the new EV was set to be released in Q2 2023.

Some sources shared that the Highland unit will boast a revamped infotainment system inside as part of the company's software update. Now, it has concluded that the recently leaked images online could hint its controversial launch is just around the corner.

In the United States, several EV enthusiasts claimed that they already saw the exterior part of the Model 3 Project Highland vehicles, yet the previous images did not even show them.

As Teslararati spotted via the r/TeslaMotors subreddit, the Highland unit exposed some of its once-concealed parts to the public.

While it's a refreshed design of the Tesla Model 3, it should be noted that the leaked pictures showed that its headlight is inspired by Tesla Model S and Tesla Roadster.

The Surprising Part Of the Tesla Model 3 Project Highland

If you closely look at the image, you won't see any fog lights in the Tesla Model 3 refresh. This is quite weird, given that this feature is present in almost all cars.

Tesla could be following the steps of Mercedes-Benz and Audi when it comes to the absence of fog lights. The EV maker might have omitted it because the headlights already performed the same actions with the fog lamps as in the case of the Cadillac CT6.

What's surprising is that the bumper drastically changed. If it gets broken or damaged, the replacement of the part will be very easy.

Some people who saw the leaked images of the Highland unit thought that the A-pillar was pretty off. Others said that it was strange to see the bugs in the front bumper of the EV.

While it's too early to tell if these images are real or fake, Tesla's software tracking service Teslascope wrote that the circulating photos are likely accurate at first glance.

Maybe this was a part of the previously leaked screenshot from a conversation with a Tesla employee back two months ago. The convo included the headlight style of Project Highland, which is described to be "more Vette" but "less Porsche."

Last March, Tech Times reported that a new Tesla Model Y variant nicknamed "Juniper" will undergo production in 2024. The refreshed design is expected to bring huge changes to the exterior and interior parts.
