9To5Mac reported that the transition of Android wallpapers to bird feathers is a part of the relaunched Google Design.

Google explained that they are aiming for authenticity in their wallpaper designs; choosing subjects that are inspiring and relatable at the same time.

Because of this, the company decided to focus on birds.

"We were attracted to the birds' liveliness, positivity, and daring because those are all qualities we associate with the Pixel brand itself," said Google Art Director Eunyoung Park and Google Writing & Content Design, Android Bronwyn Jones.

They think that bird feathers are a natural progression from the recent flower wallpapers, which Google introduced in its older Pixel devices.
