A prehistoric farming game called "Roots of Pacha" has returned to Steam after being unavailable for purchase for two weeks. This came due to reported development disputes which affected the game.

'Roots of Pacha' Farming Sim Game Became Unavailable for Two Weeks on Steam Following the Dispute

According to the story by PC Gamer, "Roots of Pacha" is a paleolithic farming sim game that comes with elements of RPG roots but gives an interesting twist to the regular farming game. Despite its uniqueness, the game was unavailable on Steam for two weeks.

Valve initially delisted the game amid legal disputes between the publisher and developer. The publisher, Crytivo, and the developer, Soda, were reportedly disputing due to contract stipulations.

Crytivo Released a Statement Sharing How They and Soda Den have Come to Terms

Crytivo released a statement on Twitter thanking fans for their support while explaining the situation. The statement highlighted how both they and Soda Den worked together to bring the game back to Steam.

They then shared that they had finally reached an agreement and made the game again available on Steam for fans to purchase. They then noted that the terms they agreed on allowed both parties to benefit from the situation mutually.

Soda Den and Crytivo Said that They Came to Terms and Hoped the Restoration of the Game was Good News

The statement also mentioned how Soda Den thanked Crytivo for its efforts in marketing the game. Vice versa, Soda Den then thanked Crytivo regarding the dedication it took to create "Roots of Pacha."

They then ended the statement by reassuring fans that they were the main priority and that they hoped that the game's restoration on Steam would be good news for them. Both Crytivo and Soda Den signed the statement.

What Initially Happened to the Two Businesses

It was earlier noted that Crytivo was the one that approached Steam and gave them the authorization to delist the game from the store even without the consent of the developer. This led to a deeper dispute between the two as Crytivo alleged that Soda Den tried to back out of the contract unilaterally shortly after the game had launched.

Backing out would then terminate what a three-year collaboration on the game was and would result in previous terms regarding revenue sharing being disregarded. The game was removed from Steam due to Valve's standard policy of taking games off its platform should legal disputes occur for the involved parties.
