On the earlier leaks of the Apple Vision Pro, then called the Reality Pro, leakers and insiders came together to claim that this device will arrive in a more affordable version, with the information resurfacing again. This is a reaffirmation that Apple's mixed-reality headset will arrive in a cheaper version, one that will not hurt one's pockets just to experience what Cupertino has to offer.

According to the latest Power On Newsletter by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is already working on a second version of the Vision Pro that is set to be cheaper and more affordable compared to its current release. However, this version will need significant work to bring its prices lower, and as per the analyst, this would be available by 2025.

In Gurman's report, the price reduction would come as a result of cutting down on premium features of the device, hence a more affordable device that still captures the mixed-reality features.

Additionally, instead of the spatial audio speakers mounted to the device, Apple may remove them and ask users to connect their AirPods to the wearable for further reduced costs. The analyst also speculated that this may be called the "Vision One" or the "Apple Vision" alone.

What Will the Cheaper Apple AR/VR Headset Bring?

The Apple Vision Pro is equipped with top-tier hardware and features like the M2 and R1 chips, as well as the dual 4K micro-LED displays.

With the cheaper Vision Pro headset, this may lose the premium display and be offered with lower quality lenses to alleviate the price. Moreover, Gurman said that Apple may opt for lower-spec chips to power the device, as part of its cost-cutting procedures.

Still, the latest newsletter claimed that Apple may not compromise on features like EyeSight, as well as the hand and eye-tracking systems of the wearable.

Apple's Mixed-Reality Headset

There were many speculations behind the mixed-reality headset from Apple that will eventually be unveiled at WWDC 2023, and this was an accurate one, as the company did deliver. Still, it was completely unexpected from the company, particularly with the unique design of the device, as well as what it brings.

One of the most important features of the Vision Pro is that it will mainly focus on augmented reality, particularly with its transparent lenses that cover the eyes. The device is set to bring the most advanced and clear display that will enlarge when used, making the virtual display significantly bigger than what Macs have to offer.

The new wearable from Apple has exciting and premium features with it, but it may not be for everyone, especially with its $3,500 price tag that is a massive investment for all. Should this new claim be true, interested users who want the same experience but is willing to sacrifice some of its premium features may get the Vision Pro with a significant price reduction, coming in less than two years.
