What is green and tiny and sells for $63,750? It is none other than the latest creation by the Brooklyn-based art collective MSCHF.

In their latest jaw-dropping stunt, they have brought the trend of small handbags to an extreme, introducing a microscopic purse that measures a mere 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers.

This minuscule fashion accessory, smaller than a grain of salt, recently made waves at an online auction, leaving attendees and fashion enthusiasts astonished.

How the Tiny Handbag Was Made

The Microscopic Handbag, as it is aptly named, is a marvel of art and engineering.

Crafted using two-photon polymerization, a cutting-edge 3D-printing technology, this fluorescent yellowish-green bag is a fraction of the size of its luxurious counterparts.

The bag, which MSCHF says can fit in the eye of a needle, features intricate designs, including the iconic Louis Vuitton branding, despite having no official connection to the renowned fashion label.

Not Your Average Handbag

While the Microscopic Handbag may seem impractical for everyday use, it serves as a statement piece, pushing the boundaries of what constitutes fashion and luxury.

MSCHF's chief creative officer, Kevin Wiesner, explained that the collective did not seek permission from Louis Vuitton, stating they follow the motto of "ask forgiveness, not permission."

This rebellious approach has become synonymous with MSCHF's controversial and attention-grabbing art projects.

MSCHF's Provocative Portfolio

The art collective MSCHF has consistently made headlines with its boundary-pushing projects that often blur the lines between art, fashion, and consumerism.

Notably, their previous endeavor involved modified Nike sneakers containing a drop of human blood, resulting in a lawsuit with the sportswear giant.

Despite the legal disputes, MSCHF continues to captivate audiences and spark conversations with its unorthodox creations.

The Auction Experience

CNN reports that the online auction for the Microscopic Handbag was hosted by Joopiter, a platform founded by musician, record producer, and designer Pharrell Williams.

As the creative director of Louis Vuitton's menswear, Pharrell's involvement added an extra layer of intrigue to the event.

The handbag garnered significant attention and ultimately sold for an impressive $63,750, demonstrating the demand and fascination surrounding unique and unconventional fashion pieces.

MSCHF's Unapologetic Approach

The art collective MSCHF has built a reputation for challenging societal norms and the traditional art world.

Their irreverent projects often satirize consumerism and question the boundaries of intellectual property.

From transforming Birkin handbags into high-priced sandals to creating larger-than-life red rubber boots, MSCHF continues to disrupt and push creative boundaries.
