The speculations are real, and Meta is set to launch its new app and platform called Threads, and you guessed it right, this is its version of Twitter. It was previously rumored that Meta is looking to bring a copycat of Twitter that would deliver a text-based Instagram app that would center on the latest buzz and information on the web.

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg's highly-anticipated fight in the Octagon came to life because of this rumored app's discussion on Twitter, but it seems like the app would come first before the brawl.

A new Meta app is coming this Thursday, July 6, and it would bring the Instagram text-based app that is also known as the Twitter version-slash-copycat from Zuck's company, called "Threads." The new Threads app is already listed on the Apple App Store, also giving its release date for this week in a surprise drop from the company.

The Verge reported that it was also spotted over the weekend via the Google Play Store before it was taken down by Meta.

Threads is not a standalone app, and would not require users to create a new account, similar to the Facebook and Instagram link.

Still, the report claimed that there might be a slow rollout of the app despite being available for downloads, so users have to wait for the new social media experience like Twitter, which is not under Elon Musk.

What to Expect from Meta's Threads?

The conversation app will focus on the text, with the platform being a fast avenue for all the latest information on the internet, seemingly like Twitter.

According to Threads' description via the App Store "Threads is where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what'll be trending tomorrow. Whatever it is you're interested in, you can follow and connect directly with your favorite creators and others who love the same things - or build a loyal following of your own to share your ideas, opinions, and creativity with the world."

Meta vs. Twitter, Also its CEOs

Leaks have centered on significant information earlier this year, as there were talks about Meta planning to create an Instagram text-based app that will center on the other aspect of social media.

The rivalry between Meta and Twitter was massive, and there was a comment from Elon Musk regarding Meta apps making people "depressed," saying that the short-word social media is better.

However, this beef was more than an online spat, as earlier this month, one of the most viral challenges amongst the tech CEO community was made online, with Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk's cage fight seeing massive traction to push through.

Soon, the public would get to experience what Meta has to offer with Threads, especially amidst the chaos on Twitter now, facing multiple users leaving the platform and looking for alternatives.
