Threads, the latest social media app, has significantly increased popularity since its launch. One user, @elonmusksjet, has been making waves with his intriguing content.

The kid behind the flight-tracking account, Jack Sweeney decided to migrate to the new Twitter rival app for good. He was banned from Musk's app in 2022.

Is he prepared to receive another ban hammer in a new platform?

Instagram parent company Meta is set to release Threads on July 6, a potential rival to Twitter, the fledgling social media app run by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

In a recent post, Sweeney announced his arrival on Threads which instantly captivated the attention of social media enthusiasts, per Gizmodo.

The account's primary focus revolves around tracking the private jet movements of Elon Musk. With his unique content, @elonmusksjet has already amassed an impressive following of 15,000 within a short span.

Musk Sees Sweeney as a Threat

Previously, the person behind @elonmusksjet, known as Sweeney, faced a ban on Twitter due to revealing publicly available tracking information of various high-profile individuals, including Musk.

Elon Musk himself responded, emphasizing that such actions pose a threat to physical safety and result in permanent suspension.

Undeterred by the ban, Sweeney migrated to Threads, where he continued his passion for tracking Elon Musk's flights. Despite the looming threat of a lawsuit that never materialized, Sweeney boldly reposted a follower's comment dismissing the suit as an "empty threat."

The seamless transition to Threads allowed Sweeney to pursue their unique content without limitations.

With this, the question arises if Sweeney's tracking of Elon Musk's private jet movements on Threads will violate the platform's terms and conditions.

The answer remains unclear, as the situation differs from Sweeney's previous encounter with Twitter. While the ban on Twitter was primarily due to the exposure of real-time location information, Threads' policies regarding such content are yet to be confirmed.

Elon Musk is Not Only the One Who's Getting Tracked

Before the ban, Sweeney managed several Twitter accounts that tracked the flights of notable individuals like Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and even Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, suspending all these tracking accounts, including @elonmusksjet, left a void in the social media landscape.

Sweeney's supporters argue that the information shared was publicly available, while critics claim it violated privacy and posed safety risks.

Back in May, Elon's jet tracker laid his eyes on Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida. The 20-year-old college student said that he's going to track his aircraft soon.

In response to the controversy surrounding Sweeney's accounts, Twitter updated its private information policy, strictly prohibiting the sharing of real-time location details without consent.

This policy aims to safeguard individuals from potential physical, emotional, and financial hardships arising from the unauthorized exposure of private information.

As Sweeney transitions to Threads, the app's stance on similar content remains uncertain. The young user expressed his enthusiasm about their move to Threads, lamenting only their inability to secure the coveted @ElonJet handle.

While sharing thoughts with Business Insider, Sweeney openly expressed a desire for Twitter's demise, possibly signaling a shift in preference towards Threads.
