Another streaming platform is joining the increasing prices of subscriptions, with Spotify reportedly pushing a change in its monthly fees starting next week. While this may be only a small increase to how much Spotify will charge its users, it is still a hike in its rates, which are surprisingly apparent in the streaming industry at present.

Before this report about Spotify, other platforms have also asked for more from its users including Apple Music, YouTube Premium, and more.

report from the Wall Street Journal claimed that Spotify is up next on the platforms that will ask more from users on their subscriptions, to continue their unlimited, ad-free experiences. It was said that Spotify will be asking $1 more from its customers starting next week, crossing over the $9.99 threshold of its prices in the past.

With this price increase, Spotify will offer its monthly subscription for about $10.99, which is available for its Individual tier price.

There are still no announcements from Spotify regarding its reported price, especially as venturing to its subscriptions website, the company still asks users for $9.99 monthly.

Is It Following Apple Music's Latest Price Increase?

Apple Music has recently increased its prices by a dollar as well, intended for its Individual plan, at $10.99 per month.

In Apple's statement, the company's price hike was due to increasing licensing costs. However, Apple justifies it by stating that this increase would help pay the artists, producers, and more from the music streaming activities of the public.

It is unknown if this is the same case with Spotify, but next week will give more answers to the public.

Spotify and What it Offers

Spotify is best known for its music streaming platform, with over millions of songs from artists from every corner of the world, available on its app. The subscription-based streaming platform was among the pioneers, and it also offers a special Lossless Audio experience that takes the quality to the next level, with a speculated "Supremium Tier" bringing a better version of it.

There is also an upcoming feature called "Your Offline Mix" which speaks for itself-an algorithm-created playlist that takes on the suggested songs and compiles them for the user to listen to when not connected to the internet. This was Spotify's take on the famed YouTube Music feature called "Smart Downloads" which also bring offline app-generated playlist for users.

Many features can be enjoyed via Spotify, as well as other content like Podcasts and the many facts and trivia of a song. However, as per the reports, these features may only be enjoyed via a subscription which will soon raise its prices that corresponds to the many price hikes in the tech industry, with Spotify joining the trend.
