Galaxy Unpacked wrapped earlier this week, but one of the most important unveilings here is the Z Flip5 which features a large outer screen, with reviewers testing what it can display out there. Apart from Samsung's apps accessible despite being folded, several Google apps are also available like Maps, Messages, and YouTube.

It means that users no longer have to flip the phone open and close to use it, unlike what Samsung offered before with the Z Flip4.

When Samsung unveiled the much-anticipated Galaxy Z Flip5, it was met with massive praise and enthusiasm as it finally brought a larger outer screen for the device. And while this larger outer screen was already introduced before by the likes of Oppo's Find N2 and the Motorola razr 40, this is a cause for celebration on Samsung's part.

Many tests and reviews were conducted to see what the Z Flip5's outer screen, a.k.a. the Flex Window, can do, and one of the most important here is the many apps to use from the flip side.

According to 9to5 Google, apart from Samsung's built-in apps, Google apps are also accessible here, going as far as to allow to play YouTube videos even when it is folded.

Apart from watching YouTube videos from the outside, Samsung also allows users to answer messages via Google Messages, as well as navigate on the outer screen with Google Maps.

These are only some of the apps that are accessible from the outside, giving users a mini experience that is enough to answer their needs.

Not flipping the phone all the time may also help in its longevity and durability, making this a plus for its users.

Samsung's Massive Changes for its Foldable Phones

Samsung had a back-to-back unveiling of its foldable smartphones in the recent Galaxy Unpacked event, and while the South Korean company only teased the new Z Flip, there is also the Z Fold5. It was also joined by the new Galaxy Tab S9 and the company's update to the Galaxy Watch, now featuring the Series 6.

One of the most important changes for the foldable smartphones from Samsung is the improved hinges that support the folding motion of its body. It was said to add dust resistance to make the device better in folding, as well as make it more durable, adding to its current water resistance feature that helps in accidental situations.

The change in Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip5's outer display is massive for the company's lineup as it provides users with more experiences without the need to unfold the device. With compatible apps for its display, its owners can do more with the device compared to before which only focused on Notifications, Weather, Music, and the like.
