OnePlus has recently unveiled a "lifetime screen warranty" program for users in India.

As first reported by Android Authority, the tech giant is taking proactive steps to address the persistent green line display issue that has plagued older AMOLED smartphones across various brands and price points.

This announcement comes as a relief to OnePlus device owners who have been grappling with this hardware problem, which cannot be fixed through software fixes.

The Green Line Issue Unveiled

Over the past year, there has been a growing number of complaints from consumers experiencing the notorious green line display fault on their AMOLED smartphones.

This anomaly, stemming from hardware defects, necessitates the replacement of the affected phone's display. However, this repair process can sometimes encompass the display assembly and even the motherboard, depending on the model.

A Solution for Affected Users

OnePlus, in its unwavering commitment to its customer base, tells Android Authority that it has introduced a "lifetime screen warranty" for all devices impacted by the green line problem.

It is important to note that this program is currently limited to OnePlus users in India. The company has urged affected users to visit their nearest OnePlus service center for diagnosis and free screen replacement.

Additionally, certain OnePlus 8 and 9 Series device owners are eligible for a voucher, which offers a percentage of their device's value as an incentive to upgrade to a new OnePlus model.

A OnePlus spokesperson addressed the issue, stating, "We realize that this issue has caused a great deal of inconvenience to the affected users, and we apologize for it."

This statement echoes the company's dedication to customer satisfaction and indicates its proactive stance in resolving the green line issue.

Upgrade Discounts

To supplement its "lifetime screen warranty" initiative, OnePlus extends upgrade discounts to select devices affected by the green line fault.

Users of the OnePlus 8 Pro, 8T, 9, and 9R in India can avail themselves of this offer. However, the availability of spare parts at specific service centers could influence the applicability of these discounts.

It is worth noting that the replacement devices must be procured through the OnePlus India website, with a particular incentive for the India-exclusive OnePlus 10R model.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro

In other news, OnePlus enthusiasts have something to look forward to beyond these new offerings. Reports tell us that the upcoming OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is poised to make waves with its impressive features. Boasting a 6.74" OLED screen, the device will feature a Q9+ panel by BOE, promising an elevated visual experience.

The Ace 2 Pro's display specifications mirror its non-Pro counterpart, including a 120 Hz refresh rate, 1240p resolution, 10-bit color support, and HDR10+ certification. The Q9+ panel brings refinements in color reproduction, low light optimization, and uniformity, offering users a truly immersive viewing experience.

Beyond its display prowess, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro packs substantial power under the hood. Equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 24 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, and 150W fast charging, this device promises to cater to users' diverse needs. Additionally, a new cooling solution indicates OnePlus' commitment to optimal performance and longevity.
