Netflix revealed their first Scott Pilgrim Takes Off teaser trailer, which debuted on August 16, months before the series' November streaming platform premiere.

Edgar Wright will return to executive produce the new anime series, which Netflix has confirmed was first revealed last year. Bryan Lee O'Malley will write and animate the show. Abel Gongora (Science SARU) is in charge of directing the upcoming Scot Pilgrim anime series. Animations like Devilman Crybaby, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, Science SARU created the Heike Story, and Inu-Oh, IGN reported.

Anamanaguchi (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game) is responsible for the original music, while he and Joseph Trapanese (Straight Outta Compton) are responsible for the score.

Original Scott Pilgrim Cast Returns

The whole Scott Pilgrim vs. the World live-action ensemble will be back to voice their roles in Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. In addition to Michael Cera as Scott, Comicbook reported that the upcoming Scott Pilgrim anime series will feature stars Kieran Culkin (Wallace Wells), Anna Kendrick (Stacey Pilgrim_, Brie Larson (Envy Adams), Alison Pill (Kim Pine), Johnny Simmons (Young Neil), Mark Webber (Stephen Stills), Ellen Wong (Knives Chau), Satya Bhabha, Chris Evans, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, and Mae Whitman (Ramona's Evil Exes).

O'Malley called the group "family" in the series' press release earlier this year. On the Netflix blog Tudum, Wright remarked that the Scott Pilgrim cast has established "a close-knit family," and friendships were established for life. He disclosed that whole cast is still included in a group email that has been happening since 2010 and is still active today. Wright also shared that he was delighted to collaborate with the original Scot Pilgrim cast for another project, for which the fans clamored.

What Will 'Scott Pilgrim Takes Off' Offer to Fans?

While Edgar Wright knew a live-action Scott Pilgrim sequel was doubtful, he suggested an anime adaptation as an alternative. He said that Netflix contacted him to inquire about the specific concept. But even better, Bryan Lee O'Malley, the show's genius creator, had a vision far more daring than simply a straightforward reproduction of the original novels.

The movie's actors reconnected virtually at a reunion organized by Wright in July 2020 to commemorate the movie's anniversary and raise money for the charity Water for People, according to NME. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World also made a brief theatrical comeback in UK theaters in 2021 to prolong the anniversary festivities.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off will debut on Netflix on November 17, 2023. The anime series will have eight episodes.
