Remote-controlled spacecraft acting like humans on intergalactic destinations are a sight to see, and India is sharing this heartfelt moment with the world, as the Chandrayaan-3 lunar rover did a 360 spin while on the Moon. While these kinds of footage are no longer new, India is still basking on the success of its lunar mission as it successfully landed on the Moon's South Pole earlier in August.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is set to explore more of the lunar south pole and will bring more information and data to the world, soon to be shared by the playful lander.

The India Space Research Organization has shared a video on the Chandrayaan-3 mission, as the rover did a marvelous 360 spin on the lunar surface. While the rover cannot attempt a 360 flip which would be a more amazing feat to watch on the Moon, its spin shows a heartfelt moment to the world, with the young rover in its pioneering mission.

India's lunar rover did not spin for random reasons, it did so to find a safe route as it exited the Vikram lander as it would undertake its outing on the lunar surface.

According to The Verge, the spinning was due to the rover looking for the best path to take, trying to avoid the crater that is on the surface following its first venture exiting the lander.

ISRO Says Lunar Rover is 'Childish'

ISRO shared in its tweet that the rover is like a "child" on the Moon with its recent spin.

"It feels as though a child is playfully frolicking in the yards of Chandamama, while the mother watches affectionately."

Also saying that the lander is its Chandramama, a Hindi term for endearment of the Moon.

The Lunar Missions

India has proved itself to be a massive contender in the space race on the international scene with its recent Chandrayaan-3 mission that successfully made its way to the Moon. It also saw a successful landing for its Vikramlander, marking a historical event for the country and being the fourth nation in the world to land on the Moon with its remote-controlled rover.

This recent mission by India was supposedly coming alongside the Russian probe, the Luna-25 mission, which was supposedly competing with the nation to bring their lander first to the lunar south pole. However, it was a different story for Russia as its Luna-25 crashed on the Lunar surface as it fixed its course, shattering the nation's supposed return to the Moon.

US and NASA's Perseverance moon mission is still active but is on another region of the Moon, particularly the Jezero crater where it focuses its research on the area. Chandrayaan-3 has shown its capabilities and potential, enough to already consider it an iconic lander, with its childish 360 spins on the Moon only the start of the many adventures it would undertake.
