Next, the end of an era for augmented reality's pioneers, with Magic Leap already sending messages to owners that its services are shutting down.

Google Maps Overhaul Seems Familiar... Like Apple?

Google has decided to refresh the look of its navigation apps, with the Google Maps overhaul bringing an updated interface for users, centering on gray roads and white backgrounds. However, it seems oddly familiar, and yes, this is the same look as what Apple Maps has to offer, one of Google's largest competitors in the market.

Apart from this, 9to5 Google also noted that the app's oceans, lakes, and other bodies of water also received a change, with it previously showing a more light blue color it. Now, like Apple Maps, it is featuring more vibrant colors in its representation on the app.

Other elements of Google Maps have also seen an updated look, with its blue route arrow getting a darker shade it for easier tracking, as well as the bottom menu bar which features a sleeker design with smaller tabs. This gives the map better attention for users and a fresh look for the app.

The massive player in the augmented reality world, Magic Leap, has recently confirmed to its customers and users that its AR services and experiences are shutting down. The company did not explain much about why it is ending its support for the device, but it will cease to function come December 31, 2024, giving its remaining users a chance to enjoy it for more than a year from now.

UploadVR confirmed that Magic Leap is now messaging its customers individually to let them know what is to happen to its future, with the company also claiming that updates, improvements, and outages will be addressed based on their decision.

Notably, Magic Leap has inspired modern-day AR experiences, including the upcoming device from Apple, the Vision Pro, particularly with its spatial computing feature.

LogicMonitor Hack: Who's to Blame?

LogicMonitor prides itself as a cloud-based monitoring platform, but it recently made headlines not because of what it has to offer, but because of the recent hack to its systems and infrastructures. The company's spokesperson recently confirmed that there was a "surprise hack" that took place, and it affected customer accounts.

It is quite noting that most of those affected were customers who did not change the default passwords that the company gave them from the start. Now, customers are alarmed by the weak default passwords that the company gave them.

This is despite security researchers regularly reminding the public to routinely change their passwords to avoid these kinds of breaches.

As per TechCrunch's report, a source claimed that LogicMonitor did not require users to change their passwords until last week's attack.
