We are not yet nearing the end of the year, but the Last Supermoon of 2023 is among us, giving the world one final outing this year to showcase a larger view of the natural satellite. The Full Harvest Supermoon will shine a bright light on the skies, and if there are no clouds to block the view, it can be seen with the naked eye and captured on your trusty smartphone.

Last Supermoon of 2023 is also the Harvest Moon

The last Supermoon of 2023 is among us, and it will appear in the night skies by Friday, September 29, and it will be at its peak in the morning of the 29th.

Its appearance in this period is also regarded as the "Harvest Moon" (not the game) and always follows the autumnal equinox which is an indication that moonrises will get shorter.

The Old Farmer's Almanac called this the Harvest Moon because it rises at the exact same time, right around sunset, giving farmers more time to work their fields and collect their harvest.

A full Harvest Moon may be 30 percent brighter when it appears in the night sky, and as joined by the Supermoon, it would be a more prominent entity when it is at its peak and in the late hours.

How to See the Last Supermoon of 2023

The Moon at night is already an easily recognizable celestial body, but if you want to catch it at its peak, venture outside when it is time for sunset. It would appear opposite of the setting Sun, rising 180 degrees in the East as sunsets are always at the planet's west.

At night, it would not be a problem to spot the Full Harvest Supermoon this year, being the fourth and last outing of the larger look of the natural satellite.

Supermoon and What it Brings

Back in the olden days, Supermoons were thought to be blessings, especially as they allowed people to see better at night with the radiant glow they shone upon the planet and its inhabitants. Now, it is a sight to see, with various space agencies and astronomers helping anticipate these cosmic phenomena where the Earth is closer to the Moon, seeing the right timing in its orbits.

Every year, there are various Supermoon events, so it is not a big deal if you miss one in the present, as only one's age would change and other elements around us. In 2022, the biggest Supermoon of the year appeared in July, and it was also regarded as the "Buck Moon," as it was the same time as when male deers would have their antlers at full size, also the brightest of last year

Astronomers, skywatchers, or people who only want to bask and dance under the moonlight have a sight to see this September 29 as the last Supermoon of 2023 is set to appear in the night sky. It is also two phenomena in one as it is the renowned harvest moon, a full moon that is dubbed during the autumnal equinox, soon to shine its light on the world.
