While the Meta Quest 3 was one of the main focus for wearables, the company has also introduced its updated sunglasses to the world, with the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses offering a new experience for all. It is still the device that features the capabilities to stream video, photo, and audio directly to Instagram, complete with the cameras and listening devices that connect to smartphones.

In partnership with EssilorLuxottica, the next-gen smart glasses have been redesigned by the company to offer better design and capabilities in this outing.

The Smart Glasses offers a way to immediately capture a moment from a person's point of view with its 12MP camera, without the need to open a smartphone's lock screen to access the camera. The Ray-Ban Meta Smart glasses can capture 1080p videos for up to 60 seconds, boasting up to 36 hours of use with its charging case.

There are two customizable frames to choose from, and it is either the rounded Headliner or the square-framed Wayfarer. Meta promises as many as 150 customization options for smart glasses, offering different frames and lens colors to stylize the experience.

It is now available for preorders and will drop into retail stores by October 17.

Meta's Smart Glasses and Wearables

Meta, then Facebook, released the Ray-Ban Stories to the world last September 2021, and the companies shared their collaboration to bring one of the earliest Smart Glasses meant for sharing vertical stories. This centered on Instagram, offering video, audio, and photo captures to bring media to a linked smartphone, initially centering on the Wayfarer frame from the famed fashion company.

However, it evolved into offering more features to the smart glasses for its users to access, and not being an exclusive device for Instagram. The Ray-Ban Stories also integrated Facebook's Messenger features, adding a chatting experience where users could send and receive messages via the glasses, but mainly for its multimedia offers.

The new and improved version offers more customization for its frames, along with the familiar multimedia capturing and streaming capabilities available on the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses.
