General Motors (GM) is gearing up to introduce the Chevy Equinox EV in the market in 2024. This compact all-electric SUV is positioned to target the mass market, potentially giving Tesla a run for its money, TechCrunch reported.

Starting Price of Chevy Equinox EV

The base model of the Chevy Equinox EV is priced at $34,995, slightly higher than the initial target of $30,000. However, it boasts an impressive 319-mile range, surpassing the company's initial estimates.

This base price already includes the destination fee, and with the $7,500 federal tax credit factored in, eligible buyers could snag it for under $28,000.

In comparison, the rear-wheel Tesla Model Y offers a 260-mile range and starts at $40,390. With the federal tax incentive, the price drops to $32,890.

Scott Bell, Global Chevrolet's Vice President, noted that the $34,995 price point is within the range they had aimed for. He emphasized that the Equinox EV not only offers excellent value but is also expected to be the most affordable EV with a range exceeding 300 miles.

Designers and engineers focused on blending style, space, safety, and value in the Equinox EV. These attributes, coupled with expressive design, electrifying capability, and seamless EV technology, aim to elevate the vehicle's appeal.

The Equinox EV will be offered in two distinct personalities - LT and RS - with various trims, drive configurations, and range options.

To enhance comfort, amenities such as heated seats and steering wheel, as well as a heated windshield wiper park feature, have been made available. Chevrolet is dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition to EV ownership, offering support like navigation and route planning through the MyChevy app.

Additionally, Ultium Charge 360, GM's comprehensive approach to EV charging, simplifies the charging experience by providing access to over 110,000 public charging points in the US and Canada.
