One of the most requested features for Google's Chrome app for the iOS platform is the ability to change the location of the address bar and have it available at the bottom of the page. Now, it is available for users to choose this option and set it for their device, and this was months since it was first spotted as available to the Testflight experience, as quietly introduced by Google.

While it does not bring any additional boost to the experience, having the address bar at the bottom resembles the latest look of Safari on iOS.

Chrome has now released a new feature for its iOS app version, and according to reports, users may now situate the address bar to the bottom of their screens for better accessibility. Instead of using two hands to reach the top and access the address bar, users may now place it at the bottom of the app for easier access to it, as well as enabling a one-handed operation.

Moreover, it also allows users to choose their preference on where the address bar should be, either at the bottom of the screen or at the top.

This was originally spotted by Steve Mosser when Google first put this test via the TestFlight, with Chrome for iOS receiving this feature.

Chrome's Address Bar at the Bottom is Like Safari

Safari is best known to feature the address bar at the bottom of its screen, and it is also notable that Opera on mobile also features this accessibility. Now, Google and its Chrome for iOS have joined the change, allowing an easier experience in navigating the address bar, with the ability to change it via Settings.

Google Chrome and its Developments

Earlier this year, insiders and tech analysts first spotted Chrome for IOS changing the way it has its features arranged on the screen, with the first news of the address bar allowed to move either at the top or bottom of the screen. This mainly centers on a user's preference, and it is helpful for those looking to access it immediately by being at the bottom or those already used to Safari's format.

Chrome also celebrated its 15 anniversary last mid-October, and this gave the public a list of new features to experience and enjoy on the Google browser, available for different platforms. First off, the address bar also seen massive upgrades including better suggestions for a user's search, typo correction, improved autocomplete, and bookmark folder searching.

The address bar may seem like an unimportant feature or mostly slept on because it is only a field where users enter the text but it remains an important gateway to search the internet via browsers or engines. Users are now treated by Google to determine where they feel comfortable in placing the address bar and moving it to the bottom of the screen is now possible via iOS.
