Naughty Dog's top gaming franchise may see a trilogy that fans have been waiting for, with a new teaser believed for The Last of Us Part III may be coming soon. This was after Neil Druckmann's latest post via X, with reports believing that this is an alleged confirmation by the executive that a sequel to its 2020 game is coming soon.

The details for the future of The Last of Us franchise are hazy, and this was because of its other plans for what it built, including the multiplayer co-op that centers on its universe of cordyceps infection.

Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog director and co-president, has shared a quote post via X that congratulates Gustavo Santaolalla's significant achievement, but this was perceived as a hint for The Last of Us Part III. While Druckmann did not mention anything about the sequel, he did say something about "a lot more collaboration ahead" for the man of the hour.

In a recent win for Santaolalla, the Latin Recording Acadamy, a.k.a. the Latin Grammy's, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his works and compositions throughout his career.

Santaolalla is best known for his musical score of Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part I and Part II.

Nevertheless, Druckmann's congratulatory post was an alleged confirmation of a possible sequel to complete a trilogy.

What to Expect in The Last of Us' Future?

Almost a year ago, fans and speculators kept a keen eye on Naughty Dog's future development of The Last of Us franchise, especially with the massive possibilities it still has to offer the world. It was also in 2022 that rumors and leaks regarding The Last of Us Part III surfaced, centering on the sequel game that will complete the trilogy for Ellie's story in the universe.

With the franchise's critical acclaim and award-winning development, much is expected in its future, especially as it won 2020's Game of the Year from The Game Awards.

The game also went on to have its live-action series adaptation on Max (formerly HBO Max), with Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.

While it was said by the developing studio that The Last of Us' future game would center on a multiplayer game called Factions, there are still massive rumors about completing the trilogy of the original series. Druckmann's latest tweet provides a hint for gamers about the possibility of The Last of Us Part III, but it is not yet an absolute confirmation of the game.
