Getting long software support deals means that smartphones are useful for more years. Google did this to its Pixel 8 after extending the support for a whopping eight years.

Samsung might have just taken a page from Google's book for its upcoming Galaxy S24 series. According to the reports, the new flagship's software support will continue until 2031.

If Google Pixel 8 phones will enjoy an eight-year software support, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series will get a software support until 2031.

Samsung's decision to potentially offer seven years of software support marks a departure from its previous strategy. Traditionally, the company provided five years of support, comprising four major OS upgrades and five years of security updates.

According to Android Headlines, the rumored extension aims to secure the Galaxy S24's relevance well into the future. This is great news for users who prioritize long-term usability, especially since it is expected to come with a premium price tag.

In Android devices, a seven-year software support is groundbreaking. It surpasses the alphabetical limits of Android versions, ensuring the Galaxy S24 phones stay compatible and receive significant updates beyond what was previously deemed standard.

With that being said, this move positions Samsung as a frontrunner in ensuring its devices evolve with the evolving Android platform.

What Samsung does is not confined to routine software updates. It extends to major OS upgrades, promising a seamless transition to future Android versions.

While this information awaits official confirmation, the prospect of Galaxy S24 phones running on Android version 21 underscores Samsung's dedication to incorporating the latest technological advancements into its devices.

But When Is Samsung Galaxy S24 Coming?

The Galaxy S24 phones are scheduled to launch on Jan. 17. While hardware upgrades, including the latest Snapdragon and Exynos processors, are anticipated, Samsung's emphasis on AI technology and an extended software support horizon adds a compelling layer to the upcoming Galaxy experience.

In another report by Sam Mobile, Samsung presented a promo video for its official Unpacked event. There, the company presented the AI photo editing feature for Galaxy S24, which worked like photographic magic.

Early leaks suggest that Galaxy S24 will have a more than 10% screen touch response speed increase. Meanwhile, other sources claimed that the Ultra version will get four rear camera lenses.
