Looking back at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked January 2024 event, the massive role that AI plays on the new S24 series is also looking to improve the smartphone's camera, centering on the Super HDR.
With this feature, users are treated to access the newfound power of its AI, alongside its improvements on the camera's hardware that claims to give users the best of both worlds.
According to Samsung, Super HDR is unlike anything seen before in any Galaxy device, as it "reveals lifelike previews before the shutter is ever pressed."
The smartphone would also highlight how Super HDR enhances the image on its previews from the Gallery, "analyzing the highlighted sections of the image."
One of the main features offered by Samsung for its Super HDR on the S24 is its availability to access third-party cameras, centering on the social apps present. This includes the likes of Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, and more, with a direct integration with these smartphone apps in HDR, sharing images captured by the S24's powerful cameras, powered by AI.
Samsung's Newfound Focus on AI
Being one of the top tech manufacturers in the world, Samsung made sure that it was not left behind with its AI developments, and the company unveiled these ventures in last year's Unpacked events. Still, there were impressive early AI developments from Samsung including its so-called 'MegaPortrait' which offers generative image creations, a.k.a. deepfakes, into megapixel portrait outputs.
Apart from its mobile devices, Samsung also looked into developing its smart home ventures to feature more of the AI technology it worked on in the past few years. The goal is to create new experiences for the users, centering on smart home appliances which aims to change how the world interacts with electronics and devices meant for everyday use.
Samsung reiterated yesterday that its AI developments are packed into its latest smartphone series, the Galaxy S24, and the company did not stop there as its collaboration with Google also looks to bring a different experience. Further looking into Samsung's announced AI features for the S24, Super HDR is a new technology introduced to the smartphones, offering an overall upgrade to the camera that can be applied to different apps.
