Samsung is set to broaden the reach of its Galaxy AI features with the introduction of the new One UI 6.1 update slated for release in late March.

This update will extend the availability of Galaxy AI capabilities to a wide range of devices, including the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9+, and Tab S9.

Samsung Extends Galaxy AI Features to More Devices

Initially introduced for the Galaxy S24 series, these AI features will now be accessible to a larger user base, marking Samsung's efforts to democratize its mobile AI technologies.

According to Samsung's official announcement, the integration of Galaxy AI into more devices aims to enhance users' mobile AI experience by employing a hybrid approach that combines both on-device and cloud-based AI functionalities.

TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the company's commitment to making AI more accessible to users, stating that their goal with Galaxy AI is to pioneer a new era of mobile AI while empowering users. 

"Our goal with Galaxy AI is not only to pioneer a new era of mobile AI, but also to empower users by making AI more accessible," Roh said in a statement. 

"This is only the beginning of Galaxy AI, as we plan to bring the experience to over 100 million Galaxy users within 2024 and continue to innovate ways to harness the unlimited possibilities of mobile AI," he added.

What to Expect From the New One UI 6.1 Update of Samsung 

With the new One UI 6.1 update, a broader spectrum of Galaxy users will have access to communication-enhancing features powered by Galaxy AI. These features include adjusting message tone and translating messages in 13 different languages using Chat Assist. 

Additionally, users can engage in real-time conversations with Live Translate, which provides voice and text translations for phone calls, and Interpreter, which facilitates spontaneous conversations with locals by generating text translations for live discussions.

The expanded integration of Galaxy AI across the Galaxy ecosystem is designed to streamline day-to-day tasks for users. Enhanced search functions like Circle to Search with Google allow intuitive search results with a simple circle-motion gesture. 

Productivity is further enhanced with features like Note Assist, which assists in note organization and translation, and Browsing Assist, which provides comprehensive summaries of news articles to keep users informed.

Samsung is also doubling down on its commitment to unlocking users' creative potential with the new update. The suite of Galaxy AI tools included in the update encourages creative freedom, offering features like Generative Edit for photo manipulation and Edit Suggestion for quick and easy photo editing. 

Moreover, Instant Slow-mo generates additional frames for slow-motion videos, easily capturing action-packed moments. The update also introduces AI-generated wallpapers, allowing users to personalize their Galaxy devices. 

The new One UI 6.1 update was announced on February 22, but its rollout will occur by the end of March.
