Amazon's renowned cloud game streaming platform, Luna, is now in partnership with GOG.com, which delivers online access to the titles available in the famed marketplace's library.

This includes a list of supported games from GOG to deliver on Luna's cloud gaming platform, offering a more expansive experience that opens up new access for Amazon's platform.

Luna is cloud-based, which means that it can be played on compatible devices as long as there is an internet connection.

GOG announced its new partnership with Amazon Luna, which will expand the cloud game streaming service's offerings to its subscribers. Both companies promise that renowned titles from CD Projekt Red (its parent company), including The Witcher series, Cyberpunk 2077, and more, will soon be available on Luna's cloud service.

This integration of GOG's library on Amazon Luna means multiple devices could play these titles, utilizing the cloud's power to bring more games without much focus on the hardware.

GOG, a.k.a. Good Old Games, said that it is still maintaining its "mission of DRM-free gaming," where all purchased games on the renowned distribution platform are available for gamers.

On the other hand, Amazon also announced this partnership with a different premise for gamers.

The company said that Amazon Prime members and Luna+ subscribers may be able to access GOG games once they are made available, still making them available to any compatible device with an internet connection required. In other words, this means that subscriptions are still required on Amazon's end.

Both companies have not yet shared when this collaboration would be made available.

Amazon Luna's Cloud Game Streaming

Cloud game-streaming became popular over the years, with Amazon Luna among the early ones introducing their take on bringing gaming anywhere, on any compatible device. Amazon only brought the Luna cloud gaming service in 2020, going alongside the now-defunct Google Stadia, Microsoft's Project xCloud (now Xbox Cloud Gaming), and more.

Luna is Amazon-coded, with Prime subscribers given a chance to access select games for free on the cloud streaming platform, but it would still be a different subscription from the main Luna service.

With Luna's growth, including the famed integration of Ubisoft Connect's purchased games accessible via the cloud, the company is looking to expand more of the service via a new partner featuring its library.

GOG's platform has been a staple for gamers to enjoy various titles on different platforms. While these are currently exclusive to the console they are purchasing them for, this is about to change.

Amazon Luna and GOG's new partnership leverages the game distributor's library and brings it to the cloud-based service, making it possible to access purchased titles on any device anywhere.
