iOS 27 to Reportedly Greatly Boost Apple Intelligence Image Models, Visual Quality

A new report has claimed that the upcoming iOS 27 is set to deliver massive Apple Intelligence upgrades that would provide a "big boost" to the AI's existing image generation models.

This upgrade would reportedly deliver a boost particularly for Genmoji and Image Playground.

iOS 27 Brings 'Big Boost' to Apple Intelligence Image Models

Mark Gurman shared in his latest "Power On" newsletter (via Bloomberg) that Apple is set to deliver a massive upgrade to its Apple Intelligence image models with iOS 27 later this year.

The Apple analyst specifically said that part of Apple's improvements to their generative AI is that there will be a "big boost" coming to the image models, which have been available since iOS 18. These image models include the Genmoji and the Image Playground.

However, Gurman did not provide specific details in his report, so it remains to be seen what the big improvements will be.

Visual Quality Improvements for Genmoji, Image Playground

According to 9to5Mac, Gurman mentioned that these new visual quality improvements to both Apple Intelligence image models are expected to be a massive offering under Apple Intelligence later this year.

It was previously revealed that Genmoji will suggest new generations based on the user's photo library, as well as the redesign of Image Playground.

Earlier reports from Gurman revealed that Apple is on its way to support third-party AI models for image creation, and it would go beyond the previous integration of OpenAI's ChatGPT on Apple Intelligence.

While it was not specified by Gurman which third-party models are coming, there is one sure addition, and that is Google's Gemini as the company struck a deal with Apple to improve Siri.
