With the advent of sites that enable viewers and fans to follow and stream their favorite programs, it's hard not to get glued online to catch these shows. All you need is a fast Internet connection, a comfortable spot in your bed or sofa, and perhaps some pizza and drinks to complete the viewing experience.

As avid watchers, we stalk sites for trailers, news, and streams for the hottest new shows and the latest updates on our favorites. On Wednesday night Netflix caused online excitement as it accidentally streamed a new episode of the much-awaited new season of the political drama House of Cards.

"Due to a technical glitch, some Frank Underwood fans got a sneak peak, he'll be back on Netflix on Feb. 27," Netflix released the statement.

The sneak peek episode was taken down 30 minutes after its posting but not before viewers caught onto the technical glitch. About 55,000 Tweets were posted regarding the show streaming that caused many fans to plant themselves in front of their screens hoping to catch some scenes.

Although there are speculations concerning the accidental leak, Netflix assures that this was not a marketing strategy.

That didn't stop the official Twitter feed of House of Cards to jump at the chance to milk the attention surrounding the situation by posting: "This is Washington, there's always a leak."

Without a doubt, viewers and fans are holding their breath for Kevin Spacey. He will be reprising his role as the charmingly cunning President Frank Underwood, alongside his fascinatingly stoic wife Clair Underwood played by Robin Wright. Together, they will take us through the next challenges, scandals and schemes, as Season 3 will officially start in two weeks.

In the meantime, Netflix customers will just have to settle for watching previous episodes of the show until the big day.
