Rumors, leaks, and spoilers have been the bane of Star Wars: The Force Awakens' existence. It's unsurprising, but it has to be disappointing for a production crew that tries so hard to hold on to its secrets.

Director J.J. Abrams has poked fun at spoiler reports since production began on the film, such as when he tweeted a denial of the existence of a full-sized Millennium Falcon set alongside a photo that revealed a small piece of the ship. So at least he's taking it all in stride.

In a brief interview with BBC Radio 5, Abrams reveals that "some" of the Force Awakens spoilers that have leaked are, in fact, right on-the-money.

"We obviously do the best we can to preserve the story for the audience," says Abrams in the interview. "It doesn't always work. There are a ton of rumors [on the Internet], some true, some false."

There you have it, Star Wars fans. Of course, we have no idea which rumors are the true ones, but it's better than nothing. Ultimately, Abrams seems to believe that any attention his movie gets is good thing — even from the spoiler hounds.

"I'm grateful for everyone who would want to read a spoiler," he says, "because it means they care. They want to go see the movie. I certainly know what that feels like as an enormous Star Wars fan myself."

Abrams also mentions being impatient regarding the long wait until the film comes out this December.

"I cannot wait for you to see it!" he says.

Disney's Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18, 2015.
