Bobbi Kristina Brown is still fighting for her life after she was found face down in her bathtub three weeks ago. Several reports have claimed the 21-year-old won't make it, but the family have denied such allegations. However, the latest information might prove she is truly in a sad state.

According to sources close to the family, doctors have removed the breathing tube from the young woman. To replace the breathing tube, doctors chose to insert a tracheostomy tube into her throat. From what we've come to understand, this was done to make sure she doesn't catch an infection.

"You can't leave a breathing tube in long-term because it's an infection risk and can erode through the trachea," internist Dr. Levi Benson said. "[The patient's] condition is the same; a tracheostomy [allows for] another type of breathing tube."

When it comes down to the long-term effects of such a procedure, Dr. Benson said there shouldn't be one because the tube is placed below the vocal cord. It means that should Bobbi Kristina make a full recovery, she would be able to continue her plan to begin a singing career without worrying about her vocals.

However, not everything is perfect. The doctor said if she should pull through, she would be required to wear a tracheostomy to talk properly, but as time goes by, this device would no longer be needed. After removal, the hole in Bobbi Kristina's neck should heal, and she could go on to live a normal life.

At the end of the day, however, placing a tracheostomy tube inside Bobbi Kristina's throat does not mean there is an improvement in her condition. She's still in a critical state, so fans should not get too excited just yet.

Ever since Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive and placed in a medically induced coma three weeks ago, we have yet to see any information that would suggest the first and only child of the late pop diva Whitney Houston with singer Bobby Brown would survive her ordeal. Chances are, the family could be attempting to avoid the inevitable for as long as possible in hopes she might pull through.
