Sledgehammer Games is retuning 15 base weapons in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. And with the release of the Havoc DLC arriving shortly, it appears the rebalancing will occur in the expansion pack.

News of the weapons rebalancing was released in a Twitter conversation between Michael Condrey, Sledgehammer Games' studio head and co-founder, and a user with the handle Vilgot Bryggare.

Bryggare asked if the MP11 submachine gun would get a "buff," improved stats so that the weapon is more effective. Condrey didn't indicate that the MP11 would be buffed, but he revealed that his studio is changing the stats of 15 of the shooter's base weapons.

Condrey stated that the rebalancing was "coming shortly," making his comments four days ahead of the Havoc DLC's Feb. 26 release date.

Right now, the MP11 appears to be a questionable candidate for a bit of retuning. As a fully-automatic submachine gun, its range shouldn't see much, if any, change -- submachines guns are meant for close to mid-range engagements.

The MP11's reload times are on the high end for the game's submachine guns, but so is its rate of fire. Even without the game's rapid fire attachment, which boost the gun's rate of fire off to a class-leading, the MP11 still the AMR9 and the SN6.

The 15 rebalanced weapons should be revealed When the Havoc DLC move beyond Xbox console onto PlayStations and PCs. The Havoc DLC brings exo-zombies co-op play, the AE4 directed energy assault rifle and four new multiplayer maps.

Now a hallmark of Call of Duty games, the latest zombie modes lets players cooperate in the initialization of the undead. According to the back story, a "DNA bioweapon" suddenly spawn a horde of the undead at an Atlas research facility and it's up to four left-for-dead survivors, equipped with exosuits, to mitigate the problem.

As far as the new multiplayer maps, they are as follows:

"Core" centers around a nuclear fusion plant in a state of disrepair. The map features decontamination drones that can be activated by streaking players.

"Urban" is set in a super facility located in Dallas ward. The facility offers lots of verticality and blast doors, which open and close to shake up the gun play.

"Sideshow" offers a more open map layout than the other in the Havoc pack. The action takes place in Wyoming, at a motel littered with clown art.

"Drift" is set at a ski resort up in the Rocky Mountains. The map is blanked in snow, even more so when the timed event, an avalanche, occurs.
