While gaming executives and creatives were gathering in San Francisco on Monday for the Games Developers Conference (GDC), a very special and very secretive event was happening elsewhere involving a galaxy far, far away.

Over in Fort Worth, Texas, EA Games' chief operating officer Peter Moore made a special trip to town to visit the higher-ups at GameStop. Being the cheeky Brit he is, he couldn't resist teasing his Twitter followers regarding what he was there for.

Okay, not much of a tease when it's got the #starwarsbattlefront hashtag right there in the tweet. That X-wing-mobile is pretty sweet, though. With the cat out of the bag, there was no need to hold back.

"...game play footage on @starwars Battlefront." Game play footage?! It's one thing to go and talk up the game, but showing actual in-game footage of the game? And not letting the rest of us see it? That's harsh, man.

I mean, what's the point of sending something like this out to thousands of people if not to be all like, Ha ha! Suck it, losers! You can practically hear him sing-songing, ♫ You were-en't the-ere!

But Mr. Moore wasn't done. Just to plunge the dagger deeper into our fragile gamer hearts, he sent one more tweet.

Yeah, it's a cool picture. No question about it. But it still stings.

The timing of this leads us to wonder if Moore or another EA executive might show off this same in-game footage this week at GDC in San Francisco. We have a sinking feeling EA and the folks at DICE, who are crafting the game, are going to make us wait until E3 in mid-June.

If they don't give us something before then, even a little teaser... We, the fans, are fully prepared to be bitter about it.
