A terrible day for the family of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only biological child of the late singer Whitney Houston. The sole heir to her mother's estate celebrated her 22nd birthday in the Atlanta hospital where she remains in a medically induced coma.

Brown was found unresponsive and facedown in a bathtub in her home in late January -- almost three years after her mother was found dead in a bathtub as well at the Beverly Hills hotel.

The maternal side of Brown's family has for the most part kept mum on her condition and her grandmother, Cissy Houston, has been keeping vigil for her in Atlanta.

However, on her birthday, her family who has been by her side through this crisis tweeted to greet her happy birthday and asked the public for their prayers as she continues to lay unconscious in the hospital.

A statement posted on the Whitney Houston website, signed by Patricia Houston, the executor of her estate, imparted the family's thoughts:

"Today is Bobbi Kristina's 22nd birthday and we ask you to continue to keep her in your prayers as she is still fighting the battle of her life."

Missing from her bedside, however, is her foster brother turned boyfriend, Nick Gordon, who has been in a legal as well as online Twitter battle with the paternal side of his girlfriend's family, especially her biological father, Bobby Brown.

According to reports, many of Bobbi Kristina's family have gotten into altercations with members of Bobby Brown's family. The hospital where she is being treated has even banned several members of his family from visiting her.

Bobby Brown, as well, has accused Gordon of not cooperating with police investigations into what happened to Bobbi Kristina on Jan. 31 when she was found in the bathtub. Gordon denies these accusations.

On her 22nd birthday, Gordon posted this Tweet, sending his love and greetings to Bobbi Kristina, whom he is unable to visit due to a ban placed on him at the hospital by her father.

Meanwhile, Bobby Brown is able to see his daughter, whose condition remains unchanged.

Doctors at the hospital have previously attempted to remove her from her medically induced coma. However, she did not respond well and began having seizures. She was immediately put back on life support. According to her doctors, the only thing to do now is wait.
