Potential spoilers for the fifth season of The Walking Dead follow.

The fifth season of The Walking Dead has been an unmitigated success. The midseason finale alone was enough to drive the show's fans insane, and the following episodes only got better (or worse, depending on your perspective and/or favorite characters). It's been one of the show's most successful seasons ever - though, unfortunately, it won't be around for much longer.

The Walking Dead's fifth season finale is fast approaching, and there are only a few episodes left before everything inevitably falls apart. The show is known for its emotionally-crippling finales, and the fifth season could be the best example yet - not only is it sure to crush your soul, but the finale will do it for 30 extra minutes.

That's right: the season finale of The Walking Dead isn't just a standard episode, but a 90-minute extended edition.

On March 29, the episode "Conquer" will run for 90 minutes and close out the fifth season of The Walking Dead. It's basically a short Walking Dead movie - however, from a story perspective, there's not much to go on aside from the official synopsis (via AMC and IGN):

"Daryl finds himself in trouble while out on the run. Meanwhile, in Alexandria, Rick and his group continue to feel like outsiders as danger lurks near the gates."

True, it's not the most detailed summation of an episode, but it's not as if AMC is the only one talking about the finale: Norman Reedus recently visited Entertainment Weekly and warned fans to "bring their tissues" for the season finale:

It's probably not a good sign when the toughest person on the show is warning others about bringing enough supplies to cry for 90 minutes...then again, when has anything ever gone right on The Walking Dead?

"Conquer," the Walking Dead's season five finale, will air March 29 at 8pm on AMC.
