Netflix is everywhere, and everybody has their preferred method for accessing the world's most popular streaming service. Some people use the Netflix app built into their television. Others will use their game console to watch Netflix's near limitless selection of shows.

And then there are a select few who watch Netflix on the original Nintendo Entertainment System. You know, the one that came out in 1985.

It's thanks to the group NetflixOpenSource. They've developed a way to run Netflix on an unmodified version of the beloved game console.

The results are fascinating. Netflix on the NES has many of the features you know and love. From plot summaries to a scrolling list of TV shows and movies to choose from, this is definitely the Netflix you are used to. You can even recommend shows and add them to a playlist if you like.

It's just all very pixelated. So pixelated, in fact, that it is near impossible to watch anything. The duo in the video boot up the latest season of House of Cards to watch on the NES, but unless you've already watched the first episode of the latest season it's near impossible to tell what is going on.

That's kind of beside the point, though. The point is it's freaking Netflix on a more than 20-year-old piece of computing hardware built for playing Super Mario Bros. and not much else. It's seriously impressive, even if it's also entirely impractical.
