LG announced that it will be choosing 4,000 lucky individuals to take the up-and-coming LG G4 flagship smartphone for 30 days, at zero cost to the user.

Details of the new program are still scant, but LG said in a press release that it will select individuals in 15 countries based on their "entry responses." The Korean smartphone maker still did not specify what contestants are supposed to do, however, and advised anyone interested to keep an eye out for announcements on LG's various social media accounts.

Contestants from the following countries will be eligible: Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, Turkey, the United States, and the United Kingdom. LG says contestants can also increase their chances of being chosen by sharing their entries on various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and China's Weibo.

The lucky 4,000 will be given a brand new LG G4 to play and tinker with over the next 30 days and will be asked to complete certain accomplishments for which they will be awarded prizes.

"Customers are our best fans and we think this would be an exciting and unique way to get our most important mobile product of the year close to the public," says Juno Cho, CEO and president of LG, in a statement. "We're putting the success of LG G4 in the hands of consumers before the launch because we believe they are the best judge of a great user experience, beyond just benchmarks and speed tests."

LG is expected to remove the wraps off its latest flagship on April 28 at a media event in New York City, for which LG has already sent out invitations featuring what could be a faux leather back panel for the upcoming smartphone.

Earlier this week, LG also revealed its newest UX, the LG UX 4.0, which has new features that LG describes as "human-centered," such as Quick Shot which allows users to take photos quickly by tapping on the volume button twice, Smart Alert which shows weather information and activity suggestions based on the weather, and Smart Board which gathers the user's information and shows all of them in one board.

The LG G4 is also believed to sport a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, as LG Display announced the launch of a new display that boasts of a wider color gamut than conventional Quad-HD displays and Advanced In-Cell Touch, a technology that embeds the sensor right into the LCD, resulting in a slimmer profile and better touch response.
