LG has given up on trying to keep its upcoming G4 smartphone a secret. The company has posted new videos showing off its leather rear case and UX 4.0 Android skin.

As smartphones have grown in popularity, manufacturers have begun to shift away from materials like plastic and instead use more premium materials like aluminum, glass and leather. Apple has long used this philosophy in its iPhone lineup and now Android fans also have a wider array of choosing a smartphone constructed out of premium materials.

HTC began this shift when it unveiled the HTC One at Mobile World Congress in 2013 and has used an aluminum unibody case on each of its flagship smartphones since. Samsung is enjoying the success of ditching plastic for aluminum and glass in its just-released Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, which have reportedly received double the preorders of its predecessor, Galaxy S5, in some regions.

LG is going to adopt using premium materials in its upcoming G4, which will officially be unveiled at a press event on April 28. The company hasn't been shy about revealing details of the smartphone and just released a new video that shows off the G4's rear case being constructed out of "Genuine Leather" and ends with the tagline, "See the Great, Feel the Great."

LG has also just released a new video that focuses on the software side. The company will introduce an update to its Android skin, LG UX 4.0, with the release of the G4, and the video shows off some of the new features.

LG wants users to capture the best images possible and in the shortest amount of time. Quick Shot works by double-tapping the rear key, and it automatically captures an image; it even works when the phone is locked, which is much faster than launching the camera app and then taking the shot. Gesture Interval Shot will make sure you get the best selfie in just one shot.

LG UX 4.0's Ringtone ID makes it super simple to compose ringtones for all your favorite contacts so you you can "hear" who's calling and you can decide if their call is worth picking up.
