The Silent Hills game that was supposed to be created by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro has been cancelled by Konami for unknown reasons. The game was one of the most anticipated titles, but now fans will have to look elsewhere for their horror fix.

Silent Hills was announced back in 2014, with Normal Reedus playing the central character. This caused fans to get excited since Reedus is one the most famous actors in The Walking Dead TV series on AMC.

We had an idea that something was awry after del Toro says that the Silent Hills game in conjunction with Hideo Kojima was "not gonna happen." Those were some strong words, and as it turns out, del Toro was right on the money.

Konami in a statement to IGN:

"Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic 'Silent Hills' project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued."

Konami has now placed a lot of pressure on itself to come good with any planned Silent Hill game in the future, because this one had the fans excited, more so than they had ever been in a long time when it came down to games in the franchise.

We have to wonder if the cancellation has anything to do with the rumored issues between Kojima and Konami, because everything seems to connect so perfectly.

Not too long ago, it was rumored that Hideo Kojima would no longer work with Konami after development ended on Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain. These rumors began to catch fire after Kojima's name was removed from Metal Gear Solid games on Konami's website, among other things. It was as if the company was doing its best to wipe Kojima from its past, present and future.

It didn't take long for things to normalize, as Kojima's name is back where it should be. However, this latest happening could be the biggest proof that love is lost between Konami and Kojima.
