LG is now on a more even playing field with Android rivals Samsung and HTC when it comes to its 2015 flagship smartphone, the LG G4. Here's the latest information and details regarding the LG G4 launch in the U.S.

When people are considering purchasing a new high-end smartphone, it's always best to have as many options as possible to compare. Thankfully, Android smartphone fans have the latest and greatest from the three biggest players, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, HTC One M9 and LG's just announced G4.

The LG G4 keeps the same overall design as its G3 predecessor but now includes a faster processor, improved quad-HD display and upgraded 16 megapixel rear camera and 8 megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies.

"We are living up to our promise of innovation for a better life with a fashionable premium smartphone that is more focused on delivering a balanced user experience that can compete with the best of the best," said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "We wanted to give consumers a truly human-centric device that combined the analog sensibilities with technologies that delivered real world performance. From the design to the camera to the display to the UX, this is the most ambitious phone we've ever created."

LG wants the G4 to stand out from the metal-equipped Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and HTC One M9 and is offering the smartphone in several rear case material options, including premium leather, which LG claims takes three months to produce.

LG has already confirmed that all major carriers in the U.S.; Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile will release the LG G4. Here's the latest news from carriers.

While Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile haven't announced pricing for the LG G4, customers should expect the smartphone to be priced in the $199 range when signing a new two-year contract. All carriers are expected to begin selling the LG G4 in June. Once we hear any new details, we'll report right back to you.
